The bike tour will start from the bike shop in Peccioli at 10,00 a.m.. After a short explanation of the e-bike use, we’ll start our riding by bike along the Tuscany landscapes. The tuscany bike tour will follow typical tuscany landscapes for taking amazing pictures of vineyards, olive groves and stunning bike roads.

The trip will follow the typical tuscany bike routes enjoying the Tuscany hills around Peccioli and wonderful landscapes. This tour is a really discovery of the Green Triangle of Peccioli, the so called “Il Triangolo Verde”, Legoli and Ghizzano. A a way to pedal while facing the world of recycling, art and land restoration. An urban redevelopment work which will give you an incredibile experience where the bikes will ride along the perimeter of a disposal and waste plant just outside the hamlet of Legoli and at a few kms from the frescoes of Benozzo Gozzoli.

It is an essential and rigorous architectural structure with a particular connotation that marries part of the “geometric” brand of the company who owns it, the Belvedere Spa, the “triangle” precisely, combined with the color that characterizes it and best suits the environment that welcomes it.

From a meeting place that hosts events, cultural activities, and training courses, it has increasingly become a terrace from which it is possible to see the result of the fusion of everyday actions related to common sense and the realism of an industrial plant such as Belvedere’s.

You will encounter the “Presenze” art installation by Naturaliter. The Presenze are giant human figures, statues symbol of destruction and rebirth, from 5 to 9 meters tall made of expanded polystyrene and polystyrene, covered in weather-resistant fiber cement. The giants evoke rebirth to new life, in this area where destruction par excellence is expressed by waste and takes place daily. Free guided tours of the waste treatment and disposal plant and/or the ‘giants’ area are available. There are 4 statues: two are here, one to the Fonte Mazzola Amphitheater (where the bike tour has started from) and one on the roof of a building part of the industrial area of Peccioli.

Evocative place to discover by bike, incredible the size of the site, the absence of odors, the beautifulness of the giants, the Sergio Staino’s ten images, “All’ altezza delle Margherite”, “At the height of the Daisies” (ten images reproduced on polycarbonate panels) which decorated the outside walls which protect the Mechanical Biological Treatment plant from the wind. 

Finally, an amphitheater, built with tufa slabs anchored to the ground in such a way as to exclude the use of concrete, completes the evocative scenic space, a venue for cultural events and concerts en plein air.

The bike tour continues to reach the beautiful village of Ghizzano where the British artist “David Tremlett”, in 2017, brought his colors and geometric shapes of “wall drawing” not only on the retaining walls and silos at the highest part of the recycling plant area but on the facades of the houses of this beautiful little village of Ghizzano as well.
